REVIEW

The Zoo Story is a one-act play that is about a conversation that takes place between the two characters, Jerry and Peter when they confront each other in the park.

Jerry, an eccentric transient upon meeting Peter tries to strike a conversation with him about different aspects of life and generates his curiosity for a zoo story. The dialogue between both eventually reveals their personalities, digging in the depth of their backgrounds and most importantly providing reasons for Jerry’s present way of living.

The story which begins on a very faint note, on a bright sunny day ends with a dynamic ending, ultimately disclosing the zoo story. The playwright through the life of its protagonists covers the themes of isolation, loneliness, social disparity, and so on. He draws a comparison of the humans with the animals in a thought-provoking manner.
The play is a spellbinder and deals with the absurdity of human life.
